Mike Pompeo is an American politician, lawyer, and former military officer who served as the 70th U.S. Secretary of State from 2018 to 2021 and as Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 2017 to 2018. He graduated first in his class at the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1986 and served as a cavalry officer in the U.S. Army, patrolling the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.
